Abstract The impacts of MHD and heat generation/absorption on lid‐driven convective fluid flow occasioned by a square enclosure housing an elliptic cylinder have been investigated numerically. the horizontal boundaries were insulated left vertical wall was experienced at fixed hot temperature, right exposed to cold temperature. COMSOL Multiphysics 5.6 software used resolve nondimensional equations governing physics. A set parameters, such as Hartmann number (), Reynolds Grashof generation‐absorption parameter elliptical aspect ratio (AR) () investigated. current study discovered that for low number, adiabatic AR 2.0 provided optimum transfer enhancement model investigated, also impact size diminishes beyond Gr = 10 4 . But high ( Re 1000), with 3.0 offered highest augmentation. clockwise circulation reduces because increase in AR, which hinders circulation. In addition, absorption supports augmentation while generation can suppress improvement.
